Each well facility and compressor is the responsibility of Fortuna’s Operations team. We install all the operating equipment and establish the procedures required to flow the gas to market.
Gas flows from higher pressure in the reservoir to the surface. Without compression, and on its own pressure, it flows through Fortuna's gathering system to the transmission system. In time, when the reservoir pressure depletes, compression is required to move the gas to market. Once in operation, the compressors run 24 hours a day to maintain production. At some point in time the pressure and reserve of gas will deplete and become uneconomic to produce.
Each well has its own personality and requires a little different procedure to maximize production. Our goal is to safely keep the wells flowing 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with very little down time for planned maintenance.
